About

I am Dan, I am a retired General Contractor Building and Remodeling In a rural town in Eastern Utah.

Prior to becoming a general contractor after High School I worked in a cabinet shop until I joined the Navy. When I finished my duty in the military I bounced from job to job, I took what ever work was available ranging form furniture upholstery, hardware manager in a large retail store, then a year working at a local lumber company, most of the time I worked as a rout driver for a major package delivery company.

I was burned out of the same monotonous routine every day so I decided to do some thing that I could some useful skills. I got married while in the military and started a family. I needed work that was more family friendly. I took a job as a Finish Carpenter which led to learning other aspects of the construction industry. After about a year I became a General Contractor.

Since becoming a General Contractor I have built houses and done remodeling for the past 35 years.

Now it is my hope to be able to share what I have learned which is why I decided to build a website to share what I can with others. It is my hope that I can help some other contractors, Home remodeling, home owners or Do it Yourself remodeling people learn from my experience.

There is an old saying, “Necessity is the mother of invention” I found myself with a a need while installing sheet rock by my self, while holding a sheet of sheet rock on the wall up to the ceiling with both hands I had no way to nail or screw it to the wall, If I let go with one hand to nail or screw the sheet to the wall it was not balanced and would crash to the floor, I needed another hand. This led me to invent the Drywall Buddy. I named it “Thing 3 Drywall Buddy” Thing being a third hand.

Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you find it useful.
